Soghra Najafpour guilty of sex while being raped !

According to an Iranian reporter, there are undisclosed and confidential reports in Soghra Najajpour's file, the Iranian woman who is facing execution for alleged killing of the 8 old son of an influential family in Rasht 18 years ago at the age of 12. Soghra lived in the home of a Doctor since the age of 9, until she was accused of killing the family's 8 year old son.

12 year old Soghra who initially had confessed to murder of the child later breaks her silence and stated that her initial testimony was false and she was told by the boy's father that if she confessed murder, the doctor would get her released after pardoning her.

After breaking her silence, Soghra stated that ever since the age of 9 when she was sent to the doctor house as a maid, she was continually being raped by him. According to Soghra on the day of the incident, he again attempted to rape Soghra when the 8 year old boy entered the room and the nervous doctor nervously pushed his son away not to see when the boy's head hit the wall and he died. Afterwards the doctor ordered Soghra to throw the child's body in a well.

Although the police investigator had concluded that Soghra was subjected to multiple rape attempts by the father and also the medical reports verify signs of attempted rapes, however the Islamic judge dismissed the report and in addition to sentencing Soghra to death by hanging for murder, he also ordered Soghra to be lashed 100 times for having sex. The Judge's reasoning for the verdict was that the signs of rape on Soghra's body were only proof that she was guilty of sexual activity, but not proof that the Doctor had committed the rape.

Soghra was once taken to be executed at the age of 17 however the parents of the murdered boy changed their mind at the last minute, however after they were informed of release of Soghra by bail at the age of 31 , they again demanded Soghra's execution.

In its recent article about Soghra's new execution order, Etemaad newspaper censored the portion of the report about the rape and Doctor's role although the information was reported by the news reporter. (Full report is posted in her personal blog).

1 - I have a dream. My dream is of the vision of dozens of large bags stuffed full with letters from thousands of people around the world. The letters are written to the Dr. and his wife, stating that we, the people of the world, know of this case and their roll in it, we are NOT HAPPY, and will NOT FORGET. I imagine that all the bags of letters are delivered (by Soghra's attorney) in a large truck to the Dr's. medical office (with the press notified - of course).
I have a dream.

2 - StarWish624,
Actually, this might not be a bad idea, not just with this case but with every case where people are trying to extort victims for blood money or revenge. Let them know that the world is watching. (Comment this)

3 - You know, if we can find out the addresses for the human rights attorneys who are defending these cases, we COULD start a letter writing campaign as soon as we are told of the cases. Perhaps these letters would help to protect the attorney, also, who I have read, are often threatened by the Iranian authorities. I, personally send daily e-mails to US officials, including the Pres., VP, and those RUNNING for President (can't hurt). I pay particular attention to women official, and implore the SCE cause to their being a woman and a mother (if I know that she is). I, also, e-mail "Their Excellencies" in Iran daily, too.
PLEASE REMEMBER: in your communications (particularly with Iran), that you include the fact that imprisoning a person until they are near, or reach 18 years old, is a MISINTERPRETATION of both the ICCPR and CRC documents, and also a violation of International law. -- Thanks (Comment this)

4 - oops! Ammended Statement: Imprisoning someone until they are near, or become 18 years old, and then executing them, is a MISINTERPRETATION of both the ICCPR and CRC documents, and also, a violation of International law. (Comment this)

5 - Great information site! Check out:

Click on the right side : OMID Memorial (the graveyard of those executed - you can do a search for information on an individual person)

OR click on: LIBRARY (documents and information about Iran and it's Human Rights situation)

Note the case of the young girl who was swimming in her family pool, arrested for "sexually exciting" her peeping neighbor, sentenced to 60 lashes - and dying by the 30th blow. Barbaric!

7 - StarWish624, it is both shocking and sad to see the ignorance and injustice of those in power. With respect to the little girl in the pool, apparently no one stopped to ask why the neighbor was watching from his house if there was a risk he might be aroused. There is no way to make sense of the illogical thinking of those who impose such upside down interpretations of the law. (Comment this)

8 - Wow, it's so awful knowing that while this girl was having a good time in her swimming pool, she ended up arrested and died in pain! (Comment this)

9 - My Banner Child: As Les Miserables had the young girl, Eponine as it's rallying symbol, I use a 10 (TEN) year old girl who was executed by the Iranian Authorities. To me, this child speaks volumes from the grave, and surely will touch the heart of anyone who receives my e-mails about SCE.
In Iran, a boy is considered an adult at 15, BUT, a girl is at ONLY 9 (NINE)years old! So, when I read that a child 10 (TEN) years old had been executed in Iran, I did a search - and found her (or at least, the name of a child executed at 10).
Now when I write to people asking for their support of SCE, and tell of the barbaric acts taking place in Iran, I ask them to: Just ask the little girl, Nafiseh Jahani, age 10 (TEN) - OOPS!, she was executed. Try asking the little girl Afsaneh Farabi, age 12 (TWELVE) - OOPS, sorry, again.
Their very ages MUST tug at the hearts of anyone reading the message. They must think of children that they know that age, and are saddened, and sickened.
Anyway, just 2 days after I wrote President Bush such an e-mail, he was reported condemning Iran for their Human Rights violations --- Maybe they read my note????
To answer your question, I'm just a regular person. I am a Certified Paralegal, lived in Libya for three years (so I am interested in the Middle East), am a Humanist Clergy Reverend, a writer, and believe in SCE. (Comment this)
